the most bizarre sports story ever ...

i am not even sure that i can believe this, but what the hell. i just find it funny that the thing that helps this guy the most is that his teammates forced him to dress like a girl. when i first heard this, i was rolling ... trust me. it's just hillarious.

anyway, i thought i would write a quick little pre-debate note. i have said time and time again that i have no intention on supporting kerry with my vote. and well, since i am already talking about sports, i thought i would tie it into sports.

the giants get my vote. they will always get my vote. yeah, sure, as a kid i was a yankees fan. and i guess i still am. and that's where i am going to tie it in. in a situation like the election, where you get to choose anyone you want, i would always vote for the giants. but let's say the giants (and the yankees) aren't even in the election. in that situation, i am just going to want to watch the red sox lose.

and i think that george bush is a lot like the red sox in my mind. now there is no way in hell that i would want the cubs, or the astros -- and certianly not the dodgers -- to win anything. and i would never "vote" for them. but i would take a great pleasure in watching any team beat the red sox. call me a sadist.

so though i don't support kerry with my vote, i am hoping that he beats bush. and i think that starts with tonight. i know that the debates mean very little anymore. these two guys are not going to be up there talking about issues. i mean, there will be issues, but they will not be answering them honestly. i mean, doesn't anyone other than me remember bush saying that he doesn't believe in "nation building?"

the debates are more of a contest to prove to the american public that you can carry your own weight on the world stage. in the last election, gore got smashed. clinton always won. so did regan. and they won not with issues (because they are all full of shit), but rather with charisma.

kerry needs to have charisma tonight (especially since i am going to watch the debates over the giants game). if he does not prove himself likable, then he proves himself unelectable. it really is his last chance. and for those of us who would like to see bush lose, it may be our last chance as well.
